Flomax Side Effects

Essentially your ability to control urination is being weakened all the time by Flomax. Any event, like an operation or trauma can then trigger incontinence.
 
There is no medication that is in the Flomax category that is any better. They are all much the same. However there is a natural alternative that does not have any of the side-effects and is actually more effective. I detail below the side-effects of Flomax (and other drugs in this category) and my recommended alternative.

Flomax Side Effects

Flomax sometime reduces symptoms in about half the men who take it, but with significant side effects and it also does nothing to reduce the enlargement and inflammation or make your prostate healthier.
 
The generic for Flomax is tamsulosin but it is not as good, it is as bad.
Some of those side effects, like incontinence, kick in five or ten years later. Others are often experienced without men realizing that Flomax is the cause.
 

What Flomax does not do is improve the health of your prostate at all. It is designed purely to relieve symptoms. This is why the state of your prostate will continue to deteriorate if you takes it. Further down, I suggest something that will actually improve your prostate.
 
 
From my experience with BPH sufferers over the years Flomax rarely works that well anyway but has a number of side effects that are not dangerous but nonetheless are unpleasant. The most common of these include reduced or no semen, leakiness, headaches, fatigue, nasal congestion, dizziness and syncope - a sudden loss of consciousness.
 
 
Flomax often also often reduces Libido and causes erectile dysfunction. There is a natural alternative that has no side effects and is more effective and cheaper.

If you do not deal with the enlargement, it will continue to enlarge and get worse to the point where the Flomax will no longer be sufficient to deal with the blockage. Moreover continued use of Flomax will increase the risk of your eventually becoming incontinent because Flomax is weakening the sphincter muscles by keeping them permanently relaxed. The analogy is - imagine you has a blocked pipe which reduces flow. Instead of dealing with that blockage you permanently opens the valve wide at the end of the pipe.
That may temporarily increase the flow but the blockage is going to get worse. Eventually the open valve will no longer be sufficient. Ironically, if someone has been on Flomax for a long time, dealing with the blockage can initially make things worse since the muscles are now too weak to handle a stronger flow
